Lorraine Gilberte Gere

Lorraine Gilberte Gere, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on May 20, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her vibrant spirit and genuine sweet smile touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Lorraine's love for life was evident in everything she did. She found joy in the simple things, from admiring the beauty of butterflies and dragonflies, to revelling in the wonders of nature, she always felt God's presence in those things. Her passion for sharing her joy through singing led her to be a cherished member of church choirs as well as to spontaneously burst out in song anywhere at anytime causing smiles and laughter for those around her. Family was the center of Lorraine's world, and she devoted herself to caring for those she loved. When her mother and sister fell ill, Lorraine stepped care gave, showering them with love and compassion. Lorraine's playful nature and love for silliness were contagious. She had a unique ability to transform even the most ordinary moments into magical adventures, whether it was in the middle of the living room or on a spontaneous outing. Her children and grandchildren will forever cherish the memories of the laughter and joy she brought into their lives. Above all, Lorraine's faith was her guiding light. She often reminded those around her of God’s love, saying, “I love you, but you know who loves you EVEN more?…..God”with pure light on her face. This love called her to give to those in need and to humbly receive as well. Lorraine's legacy lives on through her beloved husband, Gustav Gere; her children, Sonya Gere, Trevor Gere, Richard Watson, and Sean Watson; grandchildren, Franklin Gere, Margaret Watson, and Evalyn Watson; daughters -in-law, Shawn Watson and Jessica Bosley; her brother Paul Dorion, and sister in law Carol Dorion; her nieces and nephews, Tyler Dorion, Holly Dorion, Brian Avon, and Chantale Avon and children Alexandre and Zachery. Lorraine has been predeceased by her loving Parents Raymond and Helen Dorion, and Lillian Dorion; her “Big Sister” Diane Fincham-Auntie Diane, and Diane’s husband Glenn Fincham-Uncle Glenn Lorraine Gilberte Gere's impact on the lives she touched will never be forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, enveloped by the love of her Heavenly Father.
